Itinerary

Reach Haridwar and get into a hotel. The day is made easy to have rest and relaxation after a long journey. You can pay a visit to the Har Ki Pauri in the evening to watch the Ganga Aarti. The atmosphere of the sound of bells, chanting, and floating lamps is divine. Go to the hotel and have dinner and stay overnight in Haridwar.

 

Breakfast over, and start off on the road to Barkot. The road goes through picturesque scenery, rivers, and quiet hill roads. On arrival, check in at the hotel and take a rest. Evening is to be spent at rest, since the following day is to be spent in a stroll. Overnight and dinner at Barkot.

 

Early morning walk to Janki Chatti which is the point of starting Yamunotri trek. Start the trek to Yamunotri Temple slowly. Pony or palki services can be availed when necessary. Make a sacred dip in Surya Kund and pray in Yamunotri temple. Darshan and come back to Janki Chatti and drive back to Barkot. Overnight and dinner Barkot.

 

Breakfast and then go to Uttarkashi. The highway is adjoining the lovely Bhagirathi River and has serene views of mountains. Check in at the hotel. Evening is free either to rest or take a stroll around the town. One night and dinner in Uttarkashi.

 

Early breakfast and then a drive to Gangotri. The road is picturesque and quiet with forests and valleys on the way. Visit the Gangotri Temple, the holy source of river Ganga. Take time by the river to pray and meditate. I eventually went back to Uttarkashi. One night and dinner in Uttarkashi.

 

Breakfast, and then begin the trip to Guptkashi. It is a longer drive and it is also offered with frequent stops in the name of comfort. Arrive, check in at the hotel and relax. The night is maintained light to ensure that pilgrims are able to sleep and get ready to visit Kedarnath. Overnight and dinner at Guptkashi.

 

Breaking early in the morning to Sonprayag, and making a brief change to Gaurikund. Take the journey to Kedarnath Temple. Pony, palki or helicopter services are charged as an additional expense. Visit Kedarnath and the temple which is one of the twelve Jyotlingas of Lord Shiva. Be at the evening aarti, and do silent prayer. One night stay in Kedarnath, on a first come first served basis.

 

Kedarnath Temple in the morning. Prayers are completed, come back to Gaurikund and drive back to Guptkashi.

The remaining day is to take a rest following the trek. Overnight and dinner at Guptkashi.

 

Have breakfast and drive to Badrinath thru Joshimath. Have beautiful mountain scenery on the way. Upon arrival, get into the hotel. Evening is free for rest. Night and meal in Badrinath.

 

Visit Tapt Kund in the early morning to take a holy bath, and then darshan at Badrinath Temple. On completion of prayers, start going back to Rishikesh. The Short Char Dham Yatra package leaves people with a full heart of devotion, peace and beautiful memories of Himalayas.
