Itinerary

Board a plane and take off to Chandigarh and embark on a picturesque trip to Shimla. The highway tour is in the midst of green hills, pine forests and twisting mountain roads that give beautiful sceneries. Make pleasant pauses on the road to have tea and brief photography breaks. When you arrive at Shimla, take a room in a hotel and have a rest. During the night, discover the colonial atmosphere of the town and take the pictures of the sunset behind the hills. The golden light is soft and the light is ideal to take photographs. Have dinner in the hotel and relax after the trip. Spend one night in Shimla with cool mountain air and scenic view.  

 

The day following breakfast is spent in sightseeing and taking pictures of the famous sites at Shimla. Go to The Ridge to shoot wide angle mountain shots and Christ Church to shoot colonial architecture. Take a stroll with Mall Road to get street life, local markets, and unplanned travel shots. Then visit Jakhoo Hill, where one can have a panoramic view of the valleys surrounding. The morning and evening light are the best subjects to shoot. You need not hurry when taking your shots. In the evening go back to your hotel. Enjoy dinner and relax. Overnight stay in Shimla.  

 

Following breakfast, head to Narkanda using beautiful roads which are covered with apple orchards and hilly forests. The trip also provides several landscape photography chances along the trip. Upon arrival, go to Hatu Peak where you can have a panoramic view of snow-covered mountains and valleys. Take sweeping views of a landscape at the time of golden hour to get dramatic effect. The serene atmosphere of Narkanda makes it a good place to take slow photos. Take time to investigate the peaceful environs and countryside landscape. Get into your hotel and have a relaxing evening. Get on the road after breakfast and start your journey to the beautiful village of Kalpa that is home to breathtaking vistas of the Kinnaur Kailash range. The road trip takes one through rivers, cliffs and beautiful valleys that are ideal in roadside photography. Arrive and take a hotel room and sleep. Further on, visit the village and take pictures of the old wooden houses and the local life. Kalpa has sunrise and sunset which give magical light on the snow peaks. Devote some hours to placing mountain silhouettes on color skies. Have dinner in the hotel and spend the night in Kalpa restfully.  

 

Breakfast and then drive to Tabo via the beautiful rivers the Sutlej and Spiti. The evolving scenery offers good mountainous scenery that is worth capturing. Visit Tabo Monastery, the old Tabo Monastery with old murals and spiritual ambience. Re-create architectural information and cultural aspects in the monastery complex. The desert mountain frames are very distinctive in the barren Spiti terrain. You have plenty of time to explore and take pictures of the surroundings. Take a room in your hotel in Tabo and rest. Evening and night in Tabo in the peaceful Himalayan setting.  

 

The Spiti valley is made up of several towns, the main town of which is Kaza, where the drive is headed to, after breakfast. Pull over at picturesque spots, river bridges, and villages to hit upon natural and cultural scenes and moments. The scenery provides expansive valley views and dramatic skies. Arrive at Kaza and stay at the hotel and relax. Discover the surrounding market later to shoot the local life and mountain culture. Evening light in Kaza is very good to capture vast landscapes. Dine out in your hotel and spend the night in Kaza.  

 

Breakfast and then spend the day as a photographer. Explore the village of Langza that has fossils and breathtaking Himalayan sceneries. Take conventional houses and mountain views. Next, go to Hikkim, one of the highest post offices in the world, which is also ideal for taking special shots when traveling. Then later on, visit Key Monastery which is dramatically situated on a hilltop. Sunset in this way makes stunning pictures of the monastery with mountains on fire. Spend some time in creative photography and then go back to Kaza. Overnight and Dinner in Kaza.  

 

Post breakfast, transport by road through high mountain passes (seasonal road). Kaza to Manali. It is a long but very beautiful ride with rivers, falls, rocky terrain and snow-capped mountains. Take photos on the road to the destination to show the evolving landscape and spectacular scenery. The highway offers unending possibilities of both landscape and travel photography. On reaching Manali, explore and take a break in your hotel. Have dinner in the hotel and rest. Stay in Manali with a gorgeous mountain view.  

 

Sightseeing in scenic and cultural locations at Manali after breakfast. Explore Hadimba Temple that is enclosed by high cedar trees as a perfect location to capture architecture and nature photography. Go sightseeing around Old Manali to capture pictures of beautiful cafes, wood houses and mountain living. Take a walk by the river to get flowing water and forest. Take your time and document the details and the unplanned moments when traveling. The mountains have beautiful frames with evening sunset views. Go back to your hotel to have dinner and rest. Overnight stay in Manali.  

 

Breakfast and then check out and start your drive back to Chandigarh. Take the last look of rivers, valleys and mountains on the scenic highway.
